Hudson – Representative Kate Hogan, D-Stow, hosted an art show and reception for local youth artists at the State House July 29. Students from Gallery in the Pines, an art studio in Hudson, have displayed their paintings in Rep. Hogan’s office since April. The art show and reception provided a final opportunity for friends and family members to visit the State House to view the artwork before it is taken down and returned to the artists.
The paintings were created by students in grades 5-12 from the towns of Berlin, Bolton, Hudson, Marlborough, Northborough, Shrewsbury, Southborough and Sterling. Artists included: Lindsay Kuniewich; Morgan Schultz; Maegan Sanford; Emily McMannus; Hannah Sullivan; Rebecca Johnston; Megan Scott; Celina Xiong; Amelia Fatykhova; Anna Cherkinskaya; Max Terra; Joyce Fang; Allie Calabrese; Evelyn Liu; Sarah Hulton; and Sierra Thumann.
Prior to the art show and reception, the artists and their guests took a formal tour of the State House. The Gallery in the Pines marks the third group of local artists Rep. Hogan has showcased at the State House, including ArtSpace Maynard and Bolton Artisans Guild.
