obit-timothie-hayesShrewsbury – Timothie S. Hayes, 67, of Shrewsbury, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016.

Born Sept. 5, 1949 in Evansville, Ind., he was a son of the late Robert Hayes and Nina Mae (Adams) Nolan. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Marla J. Deay Sept. 28, 1980 in the Martha Mary Chapel in Sudbury and they had been residents of Shrewsbury since 1983.

Tim worked in custodial services for the Shrewsbury Public School System at the Walter J. Paton Elementary School before retiring.

Among his interests were fishing, boating, a good game of cribbage, and time spent with his family, especially when he was preparing something on the grill. He was a self-proclaimed aficionado of tomatoes, cheese, corn on the cob, and any and all seafood. He also had a discriminating palate for craft beers.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Edmund Nolan, Erica Hayes, and Kathleen Nolan.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Marla Hayes; his sons, Brian T. Hayes of Somerville and Jeffrey A. Hayes and his wife Amanda of Waltham; his siblings, Christopher Nolan of West Boylston, Gail Nolan of Falls Church, Va., and Ansel and Debbie Hayes of Gladewater and Longview, Texas, respectively.

Funeral services are private.
