Marlborough – Fifteen contestants representing classes, clubs and sports teams good-naturedly competed in categories including legs, talent, formalwear and interview at the 28th annual Mr. Marlborough High School (MHS) Pageant, presented March 10 at the 1Lt. Charles W. Whitcomb Middle School Auditorium. This year’s “luau” theme inspired a song-and-dance number of “Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride” from the animated film “Lilo & Stitch.”

Crowned Mr. MHS 2017 was Brian Oram, Mr. Jazz Band. Named first runner-up was Alec Turner, Mr. Lacrosse, and second runner-up was Ben Simmons, Mr. Cross Country. Sophia Naqvi and Ariana Sparages co-hosted the evening’s antics. Returning as a special guest host was Spencer Geary, Mr. MHS 2016.

Serving as judges were state Rep. Danielle Gregoire, D-Marlborough, Mayor Arthur Vigeant and School Committee member Earl Geary. Scheduled judge Caitlyn Martin of Swansea, Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2017, was unable to attend due to illness.

This year’s new pageant co-sponsors were the MHS Student Council and Senior Activities Board. The junior class offered a 50/50 raffle. Refreshments were available including pizza and beverages provided by the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and pastries by the Spanish Club.
