Northborough – The Algonquin Regional High School boys’ basketball team began their playoff run with a convincing 73-53 win over Acton-Boxborough in a Central Mass. Division 1 first round playoff game Feb. 27.

Algonquin scoring was led by Kyle Henderson with 23 points and Nick Redden with 22 points.  Brian Duffy added 14 and Will Goss contributed 10.  Algonquin fell behind 10-2 in the opening minutes of the game, but once they settled in, they quickly caught up to Acton-Boxborough and never looked back.

Algonquin, now 14-7 on the season, will travel to Wachusett Regional High School Thursday, March 1, to face the Mountaineers in a quarter-final matchup.
