Northborough – A Go Fund Me page, “Be an Angel for an Angel,” has been started for a lifelong Northborough resident who is in need of help to support her two young grandchildren.

Kim Grimaldo, who works as an in-house aid for seniors and a house cleaner, has custody of her grandchildren and has been their sole support for three years.

According to Grimaldo’s friend Rosemary Eads, who started the fundraising page, Grimaldo had  recently hurt her back but she tried to keep on going. Then on Feb. 12, a terrible accident occurred while she was attempting to walk up the stairs. Because her back was injured, one of her legs buckled under her. She fell backwards and tumbled down eight steps, falling on the granite floor below and breaking her wrist in two places.

“Suddenly, Kim is no longer able to work and has no means to support the two children,” Eads said. “She has no other source of support and no savings.”

The fundraising page is intended to help Grimaldo and her grandchildren until she can return to work.

“Kim has been a selfless and steady anchor for those kids. She never once thought of putting herself first. And now, an angel needs help,” Eads said.
