Westborough – Four published authors representing a wide variety of genres will be participating in a panel discussion: “Find Out What It’s Like To Be An Author” at Tatnuck Booksellers, 18 Lyman St., Saturday April 7 from 2-4 pm. Each author will share how they got published and provide tips for turning an unfinished manuscript into a published novel. In addition, each author will read from one of their books and have books available for selling and signing.  The event is free and open to the general public and refreshments will be served.

The inspiration for the event came from the authors’ book signings.

“Everyone is always interested in how to get published,” stated romance author Gail Olmsted. “I’ve written four contemporary romance titles, including JEEP TOUR and Guessing at Normal. I have self-published, been published by a now defunct hybrid publisher out of Seattle and most recently by Roane Publishing, a more traditional publisher from New York. It’s been a real journey and there have been a lot of bumps along the way, but I’ve learned so much from my experiences and want to help aspiring authors.”

In addition to Olmsted, other panel members include: women’s fiction writer and blogger BJ Knapp, who is working on a prequel to her award-winning debut novel Beside the Music; mystery writer Tracey Ryan, who is currently writing the follow up to Wicked Game of the Hunter, and historical fiction author Lynne Heinzmann who, since her debut novel Frozen Voices was released in 2016, has focused on writing three more novels, including two in the booming young adult genre.
