Southborough – L. Edward Lamson II, 77, of Southborough, passed away July 5, 2018 at his home after a very short illness. He was the husband of Carol (Charbonnier) Lamson.

Born in Newport, R.I., he was the son of the late Doris (Murphy) and Laurence E. Lamson, and lived in Portsmouth, R.I. before his family moved to Southborough.

Ed attended an agricultural school in Hudson and was a member of Laborers International Union, Local  609 of Framingham.

He, along with his grandson, Dylan, spent the last decade racing go carts, sprint cars and modify cars all over New England and was an avid NASCAR fan. Ed was a long time Freemason and was a member of the former St. Bernard Lodge in Southborough and presently a member of the United Brethren Lodge of Marlborough.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Donna Campbell and her husband Keith of Southborough and Linda Montiverdi and her husband Vincent of Westborough; three grandchildren, Chelsea and her signifiant other Jason Dezotell and Dylan and McKenzie Campbell, all of Southborough; a brother, Albert Lamson and his wife Delores of Londonderry, N.H.; and several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashlyn Rene Campbell.

Visiting hours will held Thursday, July 12, from 4-7 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral home service will be held Friday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
