Antique appraisal night coming to Grafton

Grafton – The Grafton Historical Society will be hosting an Appraisal Night on Thursday, Sept. 27, with noted antique dealer Tom Tomaszek.

Tomaszek entered the antique business in 1964 at the age of 12. He apprenticed with the House that Jack Built Antiques in Bellingham, Mass. In the 1970 -80s he traveled extensively in Eastern Europe as well as Japan and Singapore studying antiques. He continues to exhibit in shows from Maine to Florida, including the Brimfield shows. His expertise consists of coins, tokens, military items, ephemera, pre 1990 stamps, fine jewelry of the Georgian to Edwardian period, artwork, and American folk art. He is the author of numerous published articles and guest speaker to numerous northeast historical venues.

Bring your treasured antique to South Grafton Community House, 25 Main St. South Grafton,to find out if you are the lucky one to have a valuable treasure. Registration will be from 6:30 – 7 p.m. with appraisals following immediately. There will be a charge of $7 for one item and $10 for two. Pay for appraisals at the entrance and receive a numbered receipt. There is a two item limit and the total number of appraisals will be based on available time. Owners are responsible for their items.
