Margaret M. McCarthyMarlborough – Margaret M. “Peggy” McCarthy, 55, of Marlborough, died Sept. 15, 2018 at Marlborough Hospital after a short illness.

She was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (O’Connor) and the late William J. McCarthy Jr. of Marlborough.

She leaves two sisters, Jane K. McCarthy of Marlborough and MaryEllen McCarthy (Mark Koslowske) of Holden, and her brother, Paul J. McCarthy of Marlborough. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael E. McCarthy. She was aunt to Kayla L. McCarthy, Michael P. McCarthy, Tyler D. McCarthy and Shane C. McCarthy. She leaves many relatives and friends, in particular her goddaughter, Rose Lettieri Labadini.

Peggy graduated from Marian High School, Assumption College with a B.A. in Social and Rehabilitation Services, and earned her MS Management at Lasell College.

She began her career counseling with at risk teens, and later transitioned into the insurance industry. She was most recently employed as a unit manager in the Subrogation Department at Hanover Insurance.

Peggy was passionate about elder care and was a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will be private.
