Shrewsbury – Sonja (Blomstrom) Dean, 100, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, formerly of Grafton and Auburn, passed away peacefully Sept. 18, 2018 at Notre Dame Health Care Facility. Sonja was predeceased by her husband, E. Bruce Dean Jr.
Sonja was born Dec. 16, 1917 in Sweden. She was known to friends and family as fun-loving, a welcoming hostess, and a gifted entertainer. Instilled with an adventurous spirit, she earned a pilot’s license, was a model, danced the Can Can on television, and traveled the world.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy E. Dean of Worcester; her sister, Olive Berg of Auburn; a niece, Janelle Morrissey of New Hampshire; and other family members.
At Sonja’s request, her family will celebrate her life with a private service.
