Whitinsville/Grafton – Danny Peterson, 69, passed away Oct. 8, 2018 following a lengthy illness, with his loving family by his side.
He is survived by his daughters, Alison Peterson and her fiancé Todd Kamper and Shelley McDonnell and Mike Romaniak, and his son, Scott Peterson and his wife Alonda; his grandchildren, Marissa, Brendon, Anna, Abe and Jade; his nieces, Lynn Hirt and Julie Pettersson; and his former son-in-law, Brendon McDonnell.
Danny was born Jan. 12, 1949 in Waltham, son of the late Elsa (Johnson) and Karl Pettersson. His roots were in Waltham where he grew up, but he spent many years in Grafton and more recently in Whitinsville.
He treasured time spent with family above all else, but if you knew Danny you’ll remember his love of classic cars, his passion for Boston sports teams and his collection of sports memorabilia.
He was retired from Raytheon Corp. where he worked for more than 40 years.
Closer to home you might have found him with friends for a game of Jenga and a cup of coffee. He was a former proud member of the Grafton Lions Club.
All are welcome to gather with Danny’s family and friends Monday, Oct. 15, from 9-11a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. He will then be laid to rest at St. Phillip’s Cemetery in Grafton.
