Westborough – The high school ice hockey season kicked off last night, Dec. 12, with the opening round of the annual Boroughs Cup tournament, played at Northstar Ice Sports.

In the first game of the evening, Westborough topped Wachusett 3-2. Drew Lewis-Keddy scored for the Rangers just 1:06 into the first period. Nick Ramm’s shot found the net in the second period, while his brother Tyler Ramm broke the 2-2 tie with the winning goal with just 1:02 remaining in the game.

Algonquin defeated Marlborough 2-0 in the second game of the night. Henry Antino netted Algonquin’s first goal, with Curtis Pietropaolo scoring on an empty net in the closing seconds.

Algonquin will face Westborough in the Borough’s Cup finals Saturday, while Wachusett will face Marlborough in the consolation game.
