Westborough – The Congregational Church of Westboro and the American Red Cross are teaming up for their 12th blood drive in honor of Corinne Sciarappa Saturday, Jan. 19.

The blood drive will be held at the church, 57 West Main St., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Corinne, a Westborough High School student, continues her courageous fight against rhabdomyosarcoma, undergoing chemotherapy and frequent blood and platelet transfusions. Corinne has received nearly 200 units of blood and platelets throughout her treatment thus far.

Blood drive organizers noted that they are approaching a very exciting milestone this January – the 1000 unit mark. To-date, Corinne’s blood drives have collected an amazing 989 blood donations, helping up to 2,967patients in need.

It is highly recommended that those who wish to donate blood schedule an appointment to do so. You can sign up by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org, sponsor code Corinne.  Volunteer help and donation of baked goods are also very much appreciated.  To volunteer, contact [email protected].
