Westborough Town Moderator to hold office hours in preparation for Annual Town MeetingSubmitted by John Arnold, Westborough Town Moderator

Westborough – Westborough’s Annual Town Meeting begins on Saturday, March 16 and all registered voters in Westborough can fully participate and vote. The Town Meeting will be held in the High School Auditorium at 1 p.m.

The Annual Town Meeting votes on budgets for all Town departments, capital spending by the Town, zoning bylaws, and other articles on the warrant. This year’s warrant also includes voting on funding for the demolition and replacement of the Fales Elementary School. The complete warrant can be found online at the Town’s website: https://town.westborough.ma.us

The Town Moderator will be holding Office Hours in the Meeting Room of the Public Library to help voters prepare for the Town Meeting on:

  • Sunday, March 10, 1-3 p.m.
  • Monday, March 11, 7- 8:45 pm

With its Open Town Meeting form of government, the Town Meeting is our legislature and every voter acts as a legislator. Voters are encouraged to attend these office hours to learn more about the Town Meeting process, how they can prepare to participate, and the topics that will be coming up for vote at the Town Meeting. Please bring your questions! All are welcome whether you’re new to Town Meeting or an experienced Town Meeting voter.

These open forums are not a substitute for the deliberations that happen at the Special Town Meeting. Instead, these meetings are intended as an informal review and discussion of what the voters can expect to act upon at the Town Meeting and how every voter can participate.
