Marlborough – On a lovely Saturday afternoon, the neighbors on the corner of Russell, Pleasant and Preston streets in Marlborough came together in celebration of their diversity with a Block Party.   Living in the neighborhood are many different cultures and traditions. The neighborhood blends  with the diversity. Part of the enjoyment of the block party were the many different kinds of foods and music.  Several different languages were spoken.  But mostly there were a lot of smiles and laughter – the international language.  Some of the folks in the neighborhood are from Mexico, Brazil, and Guatemala, while others have ancestors who came from Canada, Poland, Italy, Scotland and France. Also joining in the activites were some of the nuns from the convent on Pleasant  Street.  This block party is the second one the neighborhood has hosted and they plan to make it an annual event.
