Shrewsbury – Leroy H. Boughton, 91, a long time Shrewsbury resident, passed away on January 20, 2020.
Born in Philipsburg Kansas (Philipsburg County) on June 25, 1928, Mr. Boughton joined the United States Air Force after graduating high school, and served two years in the Korean War. Upon his return, he was stationed at Otis Air Force Base in Cape Cod, where he later met his wife, Dorothy Keegan. He is survived by his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Boughton and his wife settled in Shrewsbury, where they raised their family. He resided there for many years, until his passing. He would hold everyone captivated with his stories of growing up in the Midwest, where he also enjoyed returning to visit with family and friends. Leroy was known as “Mister Fix It,” and family, friends and neighbors would routinely stop by with something for him to fix. He loved spending time in his workshop with his granddaughter, and taking her fishing or on day trips. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held privately.
