Shrewsbury – CVS Health announced today that they will expand COVID-19 testing at its Shrewsbury location to now include persons 65 years of age and over who show symptoms for coronavirus. Based on FEMA protocols, symptom criteria include cough or sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or a fever 99.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
Testing at the site, located in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy on the corner of Route 9 and South Street, will continue to be administered to first responders and health care workers who are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and who are also symptomatic.
According to a press release issued by the company, since first opening the site on March 19 they “have tested on average, 200 first responders each day. It does not, and will not, administer tests on a walk-up or unscheduled drive-up basis.”
