Grafton man thanks supermarket employees with gift cardsGrafton – Bill Yeomans of South Grafton decided when shopping earlier this morning at Stop & Shop that he would show the employees how much he appreciated their hard work during this time of crisis.

“This morning at 6:00 a.m., while at the ‘Stop & Shop Senior 1K Shopping Spree,’ I thought about how thankful I was that S & S employees were still working, stocking up, cleaning and being helpful to me,” he wrote in an email.

“To show my thankfulness, I bought multiple $10 S & S Gift Cards and gave one to each S & S employee at the checkout area,” he added. “It was a small token but appreciated by each of them.”

“If you have the means, perhaps you should consider doing the same on your next trip to whatever market you favor; it’s an easy way to say thank you.”

Yeomans noted that the next time he goes to the store, he will purchase them on the way in, and “then give them to S & S employees as I shop ensuring equitable distribution of my thanks.”

He added the suggestion to consider purchasing extra cards to donate to a local food bank as most are now only accepting monetary donations and local supermarket cards during the pandemic.
