Marlborough – Students, staff and administrators celebrated Assabet High School’s Class of 2020 this week even as COVID-19 lingers.

Across the region, the virus has made typical graduations and other ceremonies inadvisable. Such mass gatherings experts say, would pose a threat of transmission to attendees.

Regardless, the cancellations of these events have hit local students hard, especially those graduating this year.

As many area schools have, Assabet, which is the region’s sole technical high school, recently hosted a parade in graduates’ honor, allowing them to drive through the school area in decked out cars to the sounds of cheers, honking and joy.

To hear from students themselves speaking from across the region on their experiences during COVID-19, see our video.
