Westborough – This April, Harry’s Restaurant will celebrate its 75th anniversary. Located on Route 9 (149 Turnpike Rd.), the beloved, iconic restaurant has long been a favorite of locals and beyond, who crave their delicious seafood and traditional diner cuisine.

Over the past year, Harry’s has continued to stay open, following all safety protocols, according to Jeanine Sander, the restaurant’s manager.

Dining options and takeout

“Right now, we can have indoor dining at 25 percent, which is about 15 people,” she said. “If you come and we are full, we will take your cell phone number down and just have you wait in your car. We will then call you when a space opens up.”

Harry’s also has an outdoor patio that thanks to several heaters, is still open throughout the winter months.

“We have six picnic tables which have continued to be used,” Sander said. “As long as there is no snow, we can run the heaters.”

Takeout continues to be another popular option.

“We will take your order, tell you how much it is and then you pay when you pick it up,” Sander said.

(The restaurant is cash only; there is an ATM inside.)

A special connection to their customers

For decades, Harry’s has not only been a place where one could get a great meal but also a special destination to celebrate an event, such as a birthday or anniversary.

“We have even had people come in after a funeral, because it was the person’s favorite place and it was a way to celebrate their life,” Sander said.

And although the pandemic has changed many things, one thing it has not is the support of their customers. And that is very much appreciated, Sander noted.

“Our customers are the best,” she said. “They have all been so understanding over the past year and really want us to succeed during this difficult time.”

A variety of meals for every day and special occasions

All of Harry’s meals are homemade and prepared to order. They will also try to accommodate special requests if possible. Throughout the week they post their specials on Facebook and Instagram which may include such items as gourmet burgers, salads, soups and sandwiches. On Sundays they offer their roast turkey meal with traditional sides.

This season Lent starts on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and ends Saturday, April 3. As such, Harry’s will once again be featuring its popular fish entrees each Friday. And for Easter Sunday, April 4, customers can pre-order a full ham or turkey dinner with sides.

A full menu, seven days a week

Harry’s is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The full menu is available each day for dine-in or takeout; and there are breakfast specials on Saturday and Sunday.
