Westborough – Barbara A. Sanchioni, 79, of Westborough, formerly a long-time resident of Southborough, passed away on March 10, 2021. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alice (Ramstrom) Sanchioni, and a proud member of the 1959 graduating class of the former Peter’s High School in Southborough.
She was the financial Coordinator for the Northborough Southborough School District for 29 years, retiring in 2007.
Barbara was an active member of her community serving on the Southborough Youth Commission, Village Society, and the Southborough Housing Authority, and later the Board of Trustees for Weatherstone Condominiums in Worcester. She was a former member of St Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Westborough and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Grafton.
Barbara was an avid reader, a talented painter and loved to travel. Her home in Southborough was the gathering place for holiday and family occasions for many years, as her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her two children, Michelle (Balthazar) Norcross and her husband Michael of Grafton and Brian Balthazar and his fiancé Dawn McPherson of Auburn; her grandchildren, Ashley, Anthony, and Amber Balthazar, and Alyce Norcross; her sisters, Judith Aylward and her husband Edward and Linda McPhee and her husband John; and a cousin, Elizabeth Hacket, all of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Armstrong, and her sister, Mary Alice Belanger.
All service are private. Arrangements are under the care of the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough.
