Marlborough – Ken Mamayek, 82, of Marlborough, died on April 29, 2021 at home after a period of declining health. He was born in Thorp, Wisc. and raised in Milwaukee.
Ken moved to Boston for his education, graduating from the Boston Conservatory of Music and Northeastern University.
He was the husband of Marian (Menton) Mamayek and loving father of Laura Mamayek and her husband Steven Pitts of Grafton. He is also survived by his brother, Gordon (Elaine) Mamayek of Wisconsin, and was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Stordahl of Wisconsin.
After retiring from a successful engineering career, Ken went full swing into his music, arranging, writing, playing his saxophone and teaching private music lessons for many years. His Ken Mamayek Dectet played some great jazz and he also played with area big bands.
Ken will be missed by his many extended family members and friends.
