Marlborough – Ralph C. Hamilton, 62, of Marlborough, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on May 20, 2021 after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Midge” Blue Hamilton of Marlborough; his step-daughter, Kirsten; grandchildren, Amelia and Cameron of Pomfret, Conn.; his mother, Comaletha Baron; and extended family and friends.
Ralph grew up in Dorchester and was a driver for the MBTA for over 30 years, retiring in 2018. He had many friends at the “T” and enjoyed golfing (although badly) or attending fundraisers with them. He always volunteered to drive for police and fire services and events.
Ralph was an active volunteer for years with both Youth Enrichment Services of Boston and the youth programs of the Boston Ski Party. An avid skier and cyclist, he raised funds for Aids Research, biking from Boston to New York for several years, and for the Dempsey Cancer Center, riding in the Dempsey Challenge. Riders will be participating in 2021 in his honor and donations may be made online at www.dempseycenter.org or mailed to PO Box 277, Auburn, ME 04210.
Skiing in the winter and biking almost every season were his passions, as well as spending as much time as possible on Martha’s Vineyard where he and his wife were married.
A service will be held, time and place still to be determined.
