NORTHBOROUGH – The Algonquin boys rugby team beat Brookline 26-0 in a game that Brookline called during halftime due to the lopsided score.
The teams continued with an unofficial second half played in a 10 v 10 formation as opposed to the standard 16 v 16 gameplay mandated by official rules. They did not keep score in that scrimmage portion of their contest.
Their regular season complete, Algonquin moved on to the postseason where it hopes to make a run at the state championship.
