Florence M. McNiffHudson – Florence M. (McLellan) McNiff, 87, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at home, with her loving family by her side, on June 6, 2021 after a period of declining health. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 62 years, Edward M. McNiff, who predeceased her on Dec. 22, 2015.

Florence was born in Gilbertville, (Hardwick) MA on March 22, 1934, one of seven children of the late John and Florence (Chisolm) McLellan. Shortly after graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Edward McNiff, and together they raised their four children in Marlborough.

Florence also worked at Assabet Valley Technical High School for 17 years as the cafeteria manager, before retiring in 1996. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling with Edward and spending their winters in Boynton Beach, Fla. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother by her family, and as a caring and generous person by all who knew her.

Florence is survived by three sons, Edward M. McNiff and his wife Julie of Shrewsbury, Michael P. McNiff and his wife Robin of Hudson, and Robert S. McNiff and his wife Mary Lou of Hudson, and her daughter, Cheryl A. McNiff of Hudson. She also leaves her five loving grandchildren, Mikala Geurtsen and her husband Geoffrey, Sean McNiff, Paul McNiff, Michael McNiff, and Brian McNiff. She is also survived by her brother, Charles McLellan and his wife Elaine of Marlborough, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Edward M. McNiff, she was also predeceased by her siblings, James McLellan, Neil McLellan, Donald McLellan, Catherine Fitzpatrick, and Christine Pappas.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Thursday, June 10, from 4-7 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 11, at 9 a.m., at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, followed by a procession to Forest Vale Cemetery in Hudson for committal services.
