Marlborough – Marguerite “Peg” L. (Marinelli) McGorty, 96, of Marlborough, died peacefully on July 31, 2021, at the Coleman House surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Francisco and Susan (Minegal) Marinelli.
Peg was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, John R. McGorty, in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan DeCiero and her husband Richard of Florida; three sons, William McGorty and his wife Christie of Florida, Steven McGorty and his wife Nancy of Grafton and John McGorty and his wife Teri of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Susan McGovern of Dunstable; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
Peg was actively involved with the Marlborough Senior Center.
A funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Following cremation, a private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 6-8 p.m., in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough.
The family would like to thank the Coleman House, especially the Assisted Living Staff, for their care and compassion over the past three-plus years.
