Nacia HendersonMarlborough – Nacia Henderson, 75, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully at Brigham and Women’s/Dana Farber Hospital in Boston on Aug. 7, 2021, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Panama, Republic of Panama. She was the daughter of the late Diego F. and Betulia de Neira.

Nacia was an accomplished pianist and along with her sister was the founding member of the first female music ensemble to play in a variety show on local television in her native Panama. Nacia was a member of the Stow Lions Club and was very passionate about helping others. In her latest roll as Tail Twister she brought fun and laughter to her fellow lions. She loved working on the annual yard sale dedicating special time to the “Jewelry Box” stand.

Nacia was an avid painter and enjoyed drawing. She loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

In her professional life, Nacia was a dedicated CNA and dedicated most of her life to the care of others.

Nacia is survived by her daughter, Ivette Mesmar of Marlborough; grandson Jose; sisters Laura and Doris; a nephew, Gabriel and his wife Karol; and grandnephews, Gaby, Ashley and Diego.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Calling Hours will be held prior to her Mass from 9-11 a.m. at the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough.
