SHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Council on Aging is inviting community members to learn more about a unique way to get needed durable medical equipment individuals might not otherwise be able to afford.

A press release from the Council on Aging noted that many struggle to get equipment they need when such equipment isn’t covered by insurance or carries exorbitant out-of-pocket costs.

The program “REquipment” seeks to solve that problem.

“We invite you to come and learn how REquipment provides FREE gently used, sanitized, refurbished medical equipment for pick up or delivery for a small charge,” that Council on Aging press release said.

Medical equipment ranges from walkers to electric wheelchairs.

This event runs from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, in the Shrewsbury Senior Center Dining Room, Side B.

Interested persons can register at the Senior Center reception desk. They can also call 508-841-8640. Transportation can be arranged by calling 48 hours in advance.
