Sister Margaret Annunciata Rosa, a Sister of the Good ShepherdMarlborough – Sister Margaret Annunciata Rosa died on Sept. 12, 2021, at Bethany Health Care Center, Framingham, after a brief illness. Sister was 97 years of age and had been a Contemplative Sister of the Good Shepherd for 79 years.

Sister Margaret Annunciata was born in Jamestown, RI in 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Glory (Freda) Rosa.

After graduating from school, Sister Margaret Annunciata entered the Contemplative Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Providence, RI in 1942. Sister made her first religious profession in 1944 and pronounced her final vows in 1954.

Sister was an excellent seamstress and worked for 13 years in the sewing department in the Contemplative community, Providence, RI.

In 1955 Sister Margaret was missioned to the Contemplative community in Brooklyn, NY where she served in the altar bread department. In 1963 Sister was missioned to Dix Hills, NY where she continued her ministry of baking altar breads. Sister Margaret was a prayerful and compassionate member of the community always giving her best to whatever she did.

Due to failing health, Sister was missioned to the community at Good Shepherd Center in Marlborough in 2008, where she continued her ministry of prayer. In 2012 Sister was transferred to Bethany Health Care Center in Framingham.

Sister is survived by nieces and nephews, many cousins, and several devoted friends.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. www.collinsfuneral.com.
