SHREWSBURY – The home decor store At Home is coming to Shrewsbury.
Shrewsbury Assistant Town Manager Kristen Las confirmed that news in an email to the Community Advocate on Thursday, saying that At Home will take over space that was previously occupied by Pier 1, Bob’s Stores and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
“The project has a valid building permit and work is underway,” Las said.
Crews were busy working on the new location on Thursday.
Located on Route 9, At Home will share a plaza with Staples and Work ’N Gear stores.
This space has been vacant since Bob’s Stores joined Pier 1 and Bed, Bath and Beyond in closing its store in the plaza late last year.
Bob’s later relocated to Westmeadow Plaza on Milk Street in Westborough, which also includes Ocean State Job Lot and Dollar Tree.
Back at the soon-to-be At Home store, recent work has uncovered memories for many Shrewsbury residents. Once a Home Quarters location, the building still bears faded outlines of Home Quarters signage on a brick facade that crews revealed in recent days.
At Home describes itself as a home decor superstore. Its Shrewsbury store will join other Massachusetts locations in Dedham and Seekonk.
