James A. KoshivosGrafton – “Jake was always there”. If you knew James A. “Jake” Koshivos those words resonate as part of the big loving circle of family and friends he leaves behind as his bright life of kindness, warmth and service tragically was cut short after injuries sustained in a car accident on February 20, 2022.

Jake is survived by his loving parents Katrina (Melwiki) and John Koshivos, his sister Julia Koshivos, his grandmother Popy Koshivos and grandfather Frank Melwiki, his aunts and uncles Peter Koshivos, George and Lori Andrews, Kari Reese, Kelly (David) Cromell, and Marianthe Andrews along with many great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

Jake was born March 7, 2000 in Boston, MA, but his roots were in the town of Grafton. Early on the traits of kindness, selflessness and love were evident in Jake and they were always a part of him as he grew into a polished young man with a boundless future.

He played soccer and lacrosse in Grafton and he graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury where he also rowed crew for 4 years.

Jake was studying International Business at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island and was poised to graduate in May. He was a brother in the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Bryant and was known for his efforts to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute as part of the civic engagement he took part in with his brothers there.

Away from school he was an adoring big brother; a brother Julia loved and looked up to and his bond with Julia will live on as part of a legacy that will reach well beyond his years.

All are welcome to gather with Jake’s family and friends Wednesday February 23rd from 4pm to 8pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536.
