MARLBOROUGH – Marlborough’s annual “Project Clean Sweep” clean up initiative will return this year.

Mayor Arthur Vigeant and the City Council announced the program on Monday, with the date set for April 30. Residents, businesses and religious/civic organizations are all invited to help clean up Marlborough.

The event will convene at the Department of Public Works municipal garage to distribute trash bags. Community members can then fan out across the city.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m with a rain date set for May 1 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Community members are advised to bring gloves to pick up litter.

Those interested can sign up for Project Clean Sweep by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Project Clean Sweep 2022.”

“We are all affected by the litter that too often makes it into our parks, streams, and neighborhoods,” the Mayor’s Office noted in a recent message on social media. “This is your opportunity to help make a difference!”
