Joanne CostedioSun City, Ariz. – Joanne Costedio of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Hudson, Massachusetts, died peacefully after a long and courageous battle with COPD at the age of 89 on April 17th, 2022.

Predeceased by John D. Costedio, her husband of 71 years, she leaves behind her children Debra Paine, John R. Costedio, Janice Connors, and James Costedio; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A popular student and cheerleader at Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, she met the love of her life, John, wed in September 1951, and relocated to Hudson where she became the backbone and mainstay of John’s new family-owned business. She was a master at multitasking, serving as the company’s full-time head draftsman, treasurer, and office manager, all the while raising four children.

A woman of great faith, Joanne lived the good life with John and her children. Good memories abound of the large and fun-filled Holiday gatherings in Hudson and at the family’s vacation home in Wells, Maine over which she took charge as gracious hostess, entertainer, and cook. Seafood preparation was her specialty, topped off by after-dinner camaraderie and cocktails!

She was the ultimate people person. She loved the company of friends, and they loved hers. However, when it came to competitive spirit, Joanne would not abide being beaten; she was a crackerjack player in games of cribbage, 500 and pinochle and took no prisoners!

The family wishes to thank the staff at Arizona Buttes Assisted Living Home in Peoria for providing the utmost care and compassion.

Services will be held at a later date.
