David E. ComeauMarlborough – David E. Comeau, 56, of Marlborough died Thursday May 5, 2022 at Marlborough Hospital.

He was born in Marlborough, the son of Donna M. (Haigh) Comeau and the late David A. Comeau. Dave was a 1984 graduate of Assabet Valley Technical High School. In 2012 he graduated from the Funeral Institute of the Northeast (FINE Mortuary College) where he received an Associate of Applied Science and Funeral Service Education. He successfully completed both his National Funeral Conference Board and State Board Examination, and received his professional license in May of 2013.

Throughout his career, David worked at the Collins Funeral Home in Marlborough and Graham, Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlor in Worcester, both for many years. He also worked for Duckett Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons in Sudbury for many years.  Dave embodied everything that made a funeral director great.  He was caring, compassionate and altruistic.  He loved giving back to the community, from Toys for Tots to Olivia’s Ride, Dave was always there.

In the little free time he had, he enjoyed traveling, riding his Harley, and going out to eat. Dave loved stopping at local restaurants and ice cream shops on his trips and trying new places.  Most recently he traveled to New York to enjoy Sir Elton John’s Farewell Tour with his close friends. Those that knew Dave well, will always remember his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his mother, he leaves three sisters, Sharon D. McGowan and her husband Richard of Berlin; Janel Miller and her husband Jason of Gilsum, NH and Lynn Comeau of Marlborough; two nephews, Jason and Tyler Miller of Gilsum, NH; a niece Amanda Comeau of  California and he was predeceased by his niece Olivia Marie McGowan of Berlin who died in 2011 and his father David A. Comeau of Marlborough who died in 2002. He also leaves his extended family known as the (New Yorkers) Phyllis Alsterberg, James Alsterberg, Pam Felson, Andriana Espada and her husband Timmy all of Ozone Park, NY; many cousins and dear friends.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 3-6 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will be private.
