Joyce E. Brescia-DeRosaShrewsbury – Joyce E. (Johnson) Brescia-DeRosa, 83, of Shrewsbury, MA, passed away peacefully July 13, 2022 at Knollwood Nursing Home, after a period of declining health.

Born December 2, 1938, to the late Albert and Edna (Nurse) Johnson. She was the beloved wife of Vincent Brescia, who predeceased her in 1983. She later married Eolo DeRosa of Waltham who predeceased her in 2011.

She leaves behind a son, Vincent Brescia of Shrewsbury and a daughter, Brenda O’Brien, and her husband James of Shrewsbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kevin O’Brien and his girlfriend Amanda Moninski of Westboro and Lauren Chandonnet and her husband Greg of Shrewsbury, a 5 month old great-granddaughter, Alison Chandonnet, and her sister Arlene Keating of Florida.

Joyce was a bookkeeper for Donahue Industries, Inc for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and crafting, and she was a talented glass cutter and Tiffany-style lamp designer.  Many Christmases were spent at her home on Grafton Street in Shrewsbury full of family and good food.

Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, July 20 from 10:00—11:00 AM at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. Joyce’s funeral will begin at the conclusion of the calling hour at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with burial following in Mountain View Cemetery, 22 Boylston St, Shrewsbury.
