Free summer concerts continue in Northborough
Kids gather to get their face painted while attending the Northborough Free Concerts.

NORTHBOROUGH – There’s still time to enjoy the free concert series this summer.

Held by the Community Affairs Committee, the concerts take place at Ellsworth McAfee Park from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays and feature food vendors and kids activities.

Way Up South — which weaves between southern, blues, country, jazz and Americana rock — will be playing on Aug. 11.

Playing Dead will hit the stage on Aug. 21. A Grateful Dead tribute band, it features former members of Dark Star Orchestra, Slipknot! and Uncle John’s Band.

Several food vendors and trucks will be at the two concerts, including Northborough House of Pizza, Dogfather, Uhlman’s Ice Cream, Yummy Mummy Bakery, Sabor Latino and Easy Street Tacos.

The Community Affairs Committee is thanking several sponsors, including the Shay family, Carvalho and Roth Orthodontics, Lexus of Northborough, Michelle Gillespie, Karen Scopetski, Main Street Bank, Flaherty Physical Therapy and Mathnasium.
