WHITINSVILLE – The community is invited to attend the Whitinsville Scramble to Cure Ataxia.

The event will be held Oct. 24 at the Whitinsville Country Club.

According to the National Ataxia Foundation, Ataxia is a progressive neurological disease that impacts a person’s ability to walk, talk and use their fine motor skills.

Mauro serves as secretary on the National Ataxia Foundation’s board of directors.

This is the second year that the golf tournament has been held.

Registration will kick off at 11 a.m. and there will be a shotgun start at noon. Cocktail hour will start at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

People are invited to play golf or only come for dinner.

Additionally, there will be raffle donations from organizations like the Worcester Railers, Coca-Cola, Deja Brew, Chick-fil-A, Lock 50 restaurant and more.

There is still time to sign up for the tournament.
