HUDSON – The Assabet Valley Camera Club will host travel and landscape photographer David Long on Dec. 7.

A resident of Central Massachusetts, Long travels throughout New England capturing its beauty across the seasons. He is a member of the Boston Camera Club, and he has won numerous awards within this club, as well as having earned several image-of-the-year awards from the New England Camera Club Council.

Long’s images have been published in the Boston Globe, Down East Magazine and other New England publications.

Long has been teaching landscape photography for the last 11 years throughout New England. He has gained a following through his workshops, tours and ebooks on self-guided photo tours. Long makes frequent appearances on photography podcasts, does camera club presentations, publishes photo blogs and has a large social media community. 

Currently, AVCC meetings are being held online. If you are interested in attending this program, contact AVCC at [email protected] a few days prior to the meeting to request a link to the event. The club’s Zoom room opens at 7 p.m., with a brief business meeting at 7:15. Long’s presentation, “Tips for Winter Landscape Photography,” will begin at 7:30.

Their first meeting of the month generally features a program designed to instruct and/or to entertain camera enthusiasts.  During the second monthly meeting, a competition of members’ digital images are judged and critiqued by qualified individuals.
