Marlborough – Dorothy Mae (Remick) Vandette, 98, lifelong resident of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in Northborough, MA.
Dorothy was born in Marlborough, MA, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary Ellen (McSweeney) Remick. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Albert P. Vandette in 2007 and her brother Robert Remick in 2002.
She graduated from Marlborough High School Class of 1942 and worked for many years in the local banking industry.
Dorothy is survived by her 2 daughters, Dorothy A. Vandette of Shrewsbury, Mary Ellen Moore (Kenneth) of Baldwinville, MA, her son Philip A. Vandette (Joan) of Gorham, ME, 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Jayme), Jarrod, Kelley, Kyle, Rebecca Shaw (Charlie) and 5 great grandchildren, Liliana, Lincoln, Adelaide, Evangeline and Lucy.
Dorothy was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sorely missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough, MA.
A calling hour will be held prior to her Funeral at 9 a.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, located at 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at, www.alz.org.
