WESTBOROUGH – Police Chief Jeffrey Lourie has been offered the position of police chief for Falmouth.

It is not known whether Lourie has accepted.

According to capenews.net, Lourie was chosen over two other finalists, both members of the Falmouth Police Department.

Lourie’s appointment will not be finalized until he passes a background check, along with approval by the Falmouth Select Board.

Lourie has been the town’s police chief since 2018, when he took over for the retiring Alan Gordon. A native of Shrewsbury, Lourie previously served as the chief in Uxbridge. Prior to that, he was the detective bureau commander for the Auburn Police Department and was a patrolman for the Shrewsbury Police Department.
