NORTHBOROUGH — Due to inclement weather forecast for Sunday, Sept. 10, the Applefest parade has been canceled.
Storms on Saturday night also canceled the fireworks display, although there were still fireworks.
According to a post from the Northborough Fire Department, “Fire Code requires once the fireworks are loaded the only way to unload them is to shoot them off. With additional rain coming in, we are taking advantage of the short break and setting them off very rapidly.”
The forecast has also canceled the following Applefest events for Sunday, Sept. 10: Classic Car Show; Taste of Northborough; and the Trinity Church Family BBQ.
