Margaret M. MossmanMarlborough – Margaret M. (Gorgone) Mossman, age 94, of Marlborough, Mass. (formerly Newton, Mass.), passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald R. Mossman (2003); her mother, Carmela (Tripoli), and her father, Vincenzo Gorgone; her five siblings, Frank, Pauline, Mary, Lee (Carmela), and Rose (Rosaria); and her son-in-law, David Prewitt.

Margaret and her family moved to Marlborough in 1963. She worked at Digital Equipment, Space Age Electronics, and Data Translations as a manufacturing technician and supervisor. While working she raised a family of seven children, was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Parish in Marlborough until its closing in 2004 and enjoyed spending time with friends. She loved cooking and bringing her family together for Sunday dinners. She also loved attending to her many gardens, giving advice on gardening, and helping others with their ailing plants.

Upon retirement, Margaret spent much of her time with her grandchildren, providing childcare, helping with homework, and attending sporting and school events. She was called Nana by all who came to know and love her. She was a parishioner and volunteer at St. Bernadette Parish in Northborough and a volunteer at Our Father’s Table in Marlborough. In her down time, she enjoyed crocheting and watching the Red Sox, many times “coaching from the couch.”

Margaret is survived by her children, Don Mossman and his wife Mary of Milford, John Mossman and his wife Linda of Marlborough, Kenneth Mossman and his wife Cheri of Grafton, Sandra (Mossman) May and her husband Joseph of Marlborough, Deborah (Mossman) Prewitt of Marlborough, Barbara (Mossman) DuBois and her husband Mark of Hudson, and Marlene (Mossman) Hausmann and her husband Kevin of Marlborough, and her fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Margaret was an endless source of love, comfort, and help to everyone.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 28, 2023 from 9-11 am in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main Street, Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street, Marlborough.

Memorial donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
