James M. Hillcoat IIIPlainville – James M. Hillcoat, III, 59, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.  Born in Norwood, son of James M. Hillcoat, Jr. and Joyce B. Conroy Hillcoat Houlihan, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and attended Stoughton High and Southeastern Regional Technical High School.

He was a resident of Plainville for just over a year, previously living in Taunton, Hudson and Marlboro for several years.

Jim, known as Trae to family and close friends, worked as a Facilities Manager for several area condominium complexes. He was an avid fisherman, gifted handyman and was generous with his time and talents to both friends and family. Trae was a devoted son and father and was a fan of heavy metal music and will be greatly missed by his family.

Jim is survived by his four beloved children, Joanne M. Hillcoat and Laura L. Paquette, both of Rhode Island, James M. Hillcoat IV of North Attleboro and Jessica H. Hillcoat of Franklin and grandson Zachary Callei. Trae was the son of Joyce B. Conroy Hillcoat Houlihan of Mansfield and James M. Hillcoat, Jr. of Middleboro and the brother of Michael A. Hillcoat and his wife Lisa A. and Glen A. Hillcoat and his wife Sandra J. all of Halifax and Dawn T. Miller Walsdorf and her husband David of Stoughton. He was the uncle of Michael A. Hillcoat, Jr., Matthew, Daniel and Nicholas Hillcoat and David Miller, and the uncle and godfather of Samantha Hillcoat.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Monday, October 30 from 4-7 with Family Reflections at 7 PM.
