WESTBOROUGH – It is just about official.

On Nov. 2, the Select Board approved a new contract for Police Chief Todd Minardi.

The three-year contract will run until June 30, 2026, with an option for a fourth year.

Minardi will receive $154,740.38 for 2024. In addition, he will receive a uniform allowance, a physical education stipend and five weeks vacation, among other benefits.

Minardi took over as interim chief in July, when former Chief Jeff Lourie accepted the Falmouth police chief position in June.

In September, the Select Board decided to drop the “interim” from Minardi’s title and made him the official chief.

Minardi has been with the Westborough Police Department since 1993, starting as a reserve officer and working his way up the ranks.

He will take the oath of office during the Select Board’s meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
