Marlborough – Leonard Conrad Stanley, 98, formerly of Marlborough, died Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Born in Waltham, MA, he was the son of the late Floyd and Lillian (Mansfield) Stanley and husband of the late Eleanor (Leduc) Stanley, to whom he’d been married for 64 years. He was predeceased by his brother, Floyd Stanley, and sisters, Thelma, Lillian and Caroline. He was also predeceased by his grandson, Jason West.

Leonard attended Waltham High School and a year after graduation enlisted in the US Army where he served as a Private First Class through World War II Where he participated in the Battle of The Buldge.After his discharge, he went on to work as a machinist for (Productioneering) in Ashland until his retirement in 1988.

Leonard was a member of the Marlborough V.F.W, American Legion Ashland and he thoroughly enjoyed activities like camping, speed skating – on ice, and partaking in his Monday night bowling league.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Judith West and her husband Richard of Charlton, his son, Wayne Stanley and his wife Rosemary of Marlborough and his grandchildren, Christine Antczak, Wayne Jr., Peter and Jonathan Stanley, and Breanna Henry and her husband Jordan.

Visiting hours for Leonard will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10:30-11:30 am at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. A burial will follow at 12:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA.
