Chatham, NY – Patricia was born and raised in Shrewsbury, MA.

She attended St. Mary’s school in Shrewsbury, Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, and college in Worcester earning a BS in English and Spanish and her degree in nursing.

Attending Catholic school had a profound effect on Patricia’s faith formation which has sustained her throughout her life. She is a member of St. James Catholic Community in Chatham, NY.

Patricia was a dedicated nurse for most her career working in Physical Rehab at Atlantic City Medical Center in NJ, Child Psychiatry at Brookside Hospital in Nashua, NH , Cardiac Rehabilitation at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield and most recently at Gould Farm residential therapeutic community in Monterey, MA.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and caregiver. She loved her family, colleagues and patients and found inspiration in her work.

Patricia was an animal lover. She loved nothing more than spending time working in her barn, riding her horses and caring for her dogs.

She leaves her husband of 25 years, Dr. Richard Plotkin, her son Ryan Herbst, her twin sister Maureen Carr, her younger sister Sharon Sweeney and a loving family of nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She was a thoughtful, kind and considerate person. She was loved dearly, will always be in our prayers and will never be forgotten.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 9th. at 11am in Saint James Church, Chatham N.Y.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Patricia’s name may be made to the Gould Farm Monterey, MA or to the Cardiac Rehab Program at Berkshire Medical Center.
