Beth A. DrydenShrewsbury – Beth Ann Dryden, 63, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

She leaves her siblings, Willis E. Dryden, III, of Barre, Paul Dryden, of Douglas, Kelly Jordan and husband Arthur, of Cobleskill, NY, and her best friend, Patricia Dryden-Shaker and husband Ashraf, of Worcester; her nieces and nephews, Christopher Dryden, Chelsea Jordan and partner Daniel Duymovic, the late Joshua Dryden, who passed in 2016, Felicia Jordan-McRee and husband Seth, Malik Shaker and fiancée Susan Foster, and Saharra Shaker; her grand-nieces, Jocelyn Rosemarion, Clementine Rose, and Raydale Flynn; a grand-nephew, who’s due on Beth’s birthday in June, whom she was so excited to meet; and her beloved furbabies, Tucker, Daisy, and Kali. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Patricia Dryden, in 2019.

Beth was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Willis E. Dryden, Jr. and Maureen (Carney) Dryden. She was raised and educated in Shrewsbury, graduating with the Shrewsbury High School’s Class of 1979. Beth went on to receive a Certificate in the Administrative Assistant program from the Salter Secretarial School in Worcester, in 1985.

For much of her career, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Dr. Connolly, Chief of the Orthopedic Spinal Surgery Division, and most recently, transferred to the Gastroenterology unit. Beth became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2007, graduating from the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy, in Worcester. She retired in August 2023 due to complications of her glioblastoma.

In 2018, she received Caregiver of the Year Award for caring for her sister Patti, from the YMCA in Northborough – a true testament to Beth’s caring and compassionate nature!

Beth was known to be very competitive, and loved to play cards, solve puzzles, crochet, and bike. She enjoyed ten-pin bowling with the Hi Nooners in Auburn. She especially loved time spent with her siblings, nieces, and nephews, and any time spent in Falmouth with her sister Patti and family. Family and friends truly meant the world to Beth, by whom she will be forever missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Dryden family from 4 – 7 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 21st at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury, with burial to follow.
