WESTBOROUGH – The town’s Employee Excellence Award Committee has presented the February 2024 Employee Excellence Award to Dana Jackman, mechanic leadperson at the Department of Public Works.
According to the committee, “Dana has been working tirelessly to ensure all the DPW equipment is repaired and maintained. With the age of the equipment and daily stress put on the aged equipment, Dana often has his hands full with repairs.
“When snow operations are underway, Dana is always at the DPW ready to manage any equipment failures or issues that arise. He is one of the first people in and the last to leave. His commitment to the DPW and his professional skills minimize downtime so operations can run smoothly.
“Dana is always professional and approachable to everyone who has a question or a concern about their equipment and he always gives an explanation in laymen’s terms.
“Dana is responsible for fleet maintenance spanning many town departments in addition to the DPW, so there is always a line of vehicles ready for maintenance or repairs.”
The award is given each month to a town employee who has been nominated by their colleagues for their contributions to Westborough.
