Marjorie A. SpinnerSouthborough – Marjorie A. Spinner, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Oasis at Dodge Park. She was the wife of the late Franklin H. Spinner.

Born in Bay City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Koeppen) Arndt and was raised in Bay City, Michigan. She graduated from Bay City Central High School.

Marjorie was employed as a clerk at Yankee Atomic Electric Company prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Westborough where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Southborough Senior Center. She loved baking pies (especially known for her pumpkin and apple) and her “family secret” recipe Christmas cookies. She loved to read. She was very attached to her beloved dog Max. She was known for her Irish wit (always made people laugh) even though she was 100 percent German! She was always welcoming and always told you what she thought, even if you didn’t want to hear it.

Marjorie is survived by three children, Eric H. Spinner and his wife, Kathie, of Franklin, David A. Spinner and his wife, Ann, of Charlton and Joy S. Messick and her husband, Robert, of Shrewsbury; one brother, William Arndt and his wife Joan of S. Carolina;  sister-in-laws Joyce and her husband Harley Holsinger, Judy and her husband Tom Monto, Barbara and her husband Bernie Jones all of Michigan, many nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 23, at 10:30 A.M. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 183 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, Southborough.

Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, September 22, from 4 to 7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
