Falmouth – James F. Teixeira, 83, of Falmouth passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Jim was born in Marlborough on June 25, 1938, one of two sons of the late Emanuel J. and Emily (Ferreira) Teixeira. He was raised in Hudson, where he graduated high school. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at Northeastern University, subsequently working for many years at Sylvania followed by GTE in Needham as the Director of Engineering.
As a younger man, he settled in Sudbury with his former wife Irene (Pinto) Teixeira and together they raised their three children. He later began his own business as a software developer, before eventually retiring. Jim spent the past 15 years in Falmouth and prior to that spent almost 15 years in Edgartown, on Martha’s Vineyard.
An engineer at heart, Jim enjoyed building and fixing things. He was very passionate about his work and was published in several Electrical Engineering magazines. He was also a talented woodworker and made many beautiful pieces of furniture as well as other wood projects and gifts.
Jim is survived by his three children, Lisa M. Teixeira of Shirley, MA, Susan D. McLaughlin and her husband Richard of Littleton and Michael J. Teixeira and his wife Marie of Odessa, FL; 4 grandchildren, Caitlyn (McLaughlin) Lee, Alex McLaughlin and Tyler and Jennifer Teixeira. He was predeceased by his brother, Leonard Teixeira.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10am -12pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA; immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12pm in the Funeral Home and procession to Saint Michael Cemetery for Committal Services.
